Pickup at your hotel approximately at 8.00AM (if you are staying in Sorrento/Positano) or 8.15AM (if you are staying in Naples). Your private car service will take you to Pompeii where you will meet your local, licensed tour guide for a 3-hour private tour of the ruins of the ancient city with Virtual Reality headsets.
You will experience how Pompeii looked 2,000 years ago through the magic of Virtual Reality. You will be surrounded and completely immersed in 360-degree virtual reality that goes on a historical journey through ancient Pompeii - just as it was before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
A professional guide and staff member will check you in and give you your 'time traveling equipment' (your VR headset). You will follow your guide into the ruins and arrive at your first point of interest. Listen to your fun and passionate guide as he or she speaks about current points of interest. Next, you will be instructed to put on your virtual reality headset and witness the point of interest you are standing in front of come back to life right before your eyes! The streets, homes, taverns, temples, theaters, markets and citizens of Pompeii live again as they once were.
After watching each 2- to 6-minute 'virtual reality scenes' you will have time to take pictures and speak with your guide.
Your driver will then take you to the Naples Central train station, where you will take a high-speed train to Rome accompanied by your guide. Once in Rome, the guide will lead you to the meeting point of your small group tour of Rome. With privileged entrance you’ll skip the long lines to gain immediate access to the Colosseum, where you’ll start your journey into Ancient Rome, led by a passionate and entertaining tour guide.
Follow your guide around the first and second levels of the Colosseum, as he or she tells you the stories that bring the ancient ruins to life. You’ll marvel at the ingenuity of Ancient Roman engineers; hear tales of public executions and blood-thirsty crowds; and discover the secret history of this ancient amphitheater.
So much of what you see and hear of the Colosseum in films and books is untrue – distinguish fact from fiction with the help of your expert guide. They’ll teach you the real hand symbols used by emperors to condemn gladiators to death, shock you with the secret, behind-the-scenes shenanigans of gladiators and fascinate you with the other lesser-known uses of the Colosseum.
Your Colosseum tour will teach you about more than just gladiators. You’ll learn about everyday life in Ancient Rome too: A lesson which extends to the next stop on our journey – the Roman Forum. Here you’ll encounter the stores of moneylenders; the final resting place of Julius Caesar; the incredible Arch of Constantine; and the Temple of the Vestal Virgins, whose namesake were charged with keeping the sacred flame alive, plus the grave responsibility of bestowing clemency on men condemned to death.
We’ll also visit the Palatine Hill; the birthplace of Ancient Rome and the location of some of its oldest and most impressive ruins. Learn the legend of twins Remus & Romulus, found and raised by a shewolf. They may seem like old and distant stories, but with the help of your guide you’ll gain a real understanding of how the Roman Empire has impacted the world you know today – and even your own day-to-day life!
At the end of the tour, you will go back to the train station accompanied by the guide to take the fast train to go back to Naples. Once in Naples, you have your private transfer to your accommodation in Naples/Sorrento/Positano
Approximate arrival time back at your hotel:
8:15/8:30 pm if dropping off in Naples, 9:30/10:00 pm if dropping off in Sorrento/Positano
